My VUE (actually, it's now the ex's VUE) with the Honda J35 engine (same as your Acura) runs great on Motorcraft 5W-20 Synthetic Blend. $12.50/jug at Walmart. I use Napa Gold/Wix filters. The oil change monitor goes off around 6500 miles like clockwork for a mixture of highway and city driving. Out of curiosity, I took off the front valve cover to take a peek and it literally looked like it had just rolled off the assembly line. It's got 60k miles on it.

Best,

Bill, wasnt there a BITOG acronym listing somewhere. I've seen the glossary of terms at the home page directory, but I recall seing an acronym and abreviation list somewhere - maybe as a sticky? Maybe that was in my Yarisword forum and I'm confused ...

How do you know? Pulled the pistons out and looked at the ring lands?

Bill doesn't seem to have the automotive issues you post about at times so I would have to side with Bill.

You just spent 2 or 3X the money on a filter than you needed to. Hondas run many hundreds of thousands of miles jiffy lube oil and filter changes . The most important filter is the air filter. Fret over the air filter and clean air to the engine.

Interesting logic. There is no side. Of course its all about "feelings" these days, logic is out the window.
Without a teardown and inspection of this critical area you cannot say how "clean" the engine is. Under the VC? well thats a small start but not the enchilada.
