So DTD has Cooper CS4's on $25 rebate per set, as many of you know. They come in the proper size for both of our vehicles, both of which will need new tires by the beginning of next winter FOR SURE. I realize that's almost a year away, but I love the reviews these tires get, saving $50 is nice, and as some others have mentioned, the CS4's have been around awhile, so who knows how long they'll still be around (I already missed out on buying WRG2's for the Fusion). They'd sit in a climate controlled room for storage, if that matters. Should I just buy them now?

Not sure what your size is, but personally I would be waiting for one of the times you can stack a Cooper rebate, DTD $100 rebate or doubling the Cooper rebate, plus a DTD CC rebate if you have one. The rebates going on now are nice but you'll likely get a better deal waiting. Of course all that assumes the tires are still around.

I wouldn't buy. You may save $50, but you also have the opportunity costs to consider, and who is to say a better deal on even better tires does not come up within the next year? And you're only talking about a 5% savings. Not worth it, IMO.

Seems silly to buy tires that far in advance, considering how quickly they age nowadays.

Also, is it that big of a deal if they discontinue that model tire? I'm sure if you are in dire need of a replacement, you could find many other tires which are very similar.

$25 for a set? Pretty sure I got $70 per set for the two sets Ive bought.

You could wait, these tire deals seem to come around now and again, and yours doesnt sound very good.

There should be NOS for a while, even if discontinued...

Dont put it off too long, but dont rush this instant, IMO. if it was $70 Id say to jump...

No. No telling what will happen in that time. Some fool may crash and total your car. You may choose to sell it. The tires don't get better with age. There will be other good buying opportunities. Use the money now to pay off debt and save more than the current promotion.

No

Wait until you actually nee the tires before buying them. There will likely be a rebate on some tire, and also they will be more fresh when it's time.

I would wait as well honestly although the cs4 is a very good tire I don't see it being discontinued shortly, although i've been out of the tire business for a few years. In all reality the cs4 is only been on the market for like 8 years iirc.
