Oh, your pic was not of the location of tow, it was just an observation. I thought they towed the car, parked on the street.
Tell the truth the BMW was parked in front of your house, and out of disgust, you called 5O.

Helping my son move into a small rent house with a short single wide drive that clearly would only hold one vehicle (we had both Tahoe’s).
Car in the front that clearly had been left there and not driven in a while. Called PD - he knocked on a door - yep, it’s ours and it won’t run. Tow truck there in 2 hours. Of course him and that guy are not BFF - but nobody needs to tolerate that kind of mess.

I have lusted after those beautiful BMWs forever. When I saw it, I had to ask the tow truck driver what was going on. Maybe I could get some kinda killer deal if ....
It's somewhat common to see fancy cars towed around here for minor issues. I am probably the only one who knows the business end of a wrench. Let's just say I pump up a lotta tires, use my jump boxes, etc. All my neighbors know me.

I wouldn't be the least bit concerned over doing a job at hand regardless of location, wealth, etc. That seems to instill false hope/superiority in some thinking they can get what they want when they want and they simply need a reality check... Could you honestly fear ANYONE driving a BMW or otherwise, bwahaha?

It sounds like the car was shifting. I though xmissions in Teslas, and most EVs, are just one speed.
Doesn't power to the motors drop as battery charge drops?
I was thinking the same, until I realized the motor sounds were from the nearby car he was racing.
Translation: It's on its 3rd or 4th owner.
A good towing channel is "Gtoger" on Youtube. He had a business in a Dallas neighborhood that used to be just empty factories, but it had become increasingly gentrified and now every Friday and Saturday night his private lot gets filled with suburban kids in their parent's SUVs, looking for a place to park while they go to the various brewpubs and clubs that have opened nearby. Despite a dozen or more "No Parking" signs, they park there anyway.... And the guy calls to get them towed because his business is open 24/7 and he needs the spaces available for contractors and customers. It is all caught on camera when the tipsy young people come back dumbfounded, looking everywhere for their lost cars and some of them have a hissy fit or kick the fence (or pee on it). All good fun.

It gets very entertaining at times.
I know a guy who caters to those living beyond their means. Ignoring the fact that this is an old car, which is not worth a lot, these people he caters to want old high-end cars for the impression it gives (in their mind). So they buy the old BMW, Mercedes Benz, etc. on payments stretching out over a ridiculously long period of time, usually at Usury interest rates.
Then the cost of keeping the old luxury car running hits home. My friend has a business which fixes wheels (since most of these cars came with low-profile tires more prone to damage to the wheel and tire), and sells tires, mostly to these people desperate to portray an image to the world. He stocks and sells almost exclusively chinese tires with names most have never heard of, and which do nothing well other than hold air for their short lives, until they're worn out and another set is needed.
While that may be true in Jeff’s neighborhood, it is not necessarily true. You would be surprised how many people are “car poor” - maxed out on payments, buying more car than they should, no cash reserves.
