A lot of people do not care about their stuff. They beat on it, showing off, lack of maintenance and then curse the company when it quits working or needs expensive repairs.

This is going WAY beyond 15k and it's a Mercedes!

I see what happened here. They but wheel bearing grease in the wrong place. Silly lube shop.

Some MMO/Seafoam/Lucas Franken-brew will fix this engine right up.

I have a neighbor who lets his van OLM go way past zero and he doesn't care. It mostly does short drives with a couple of long trips per year. I ask him periodically if it's time to do an oil change and he's like, "Yeah but I don't want to deal with it now, it's fine." Drives me bonkers. I would never buy a vehicle from this guy.

When my wife and I got married I had bought myself a new Corolla and I gave my new stepson my old Corolla a 1992. After three years he was out of work and his Toyota had broken down. He had put over 60K miles on it and changed the oil twice when he got a friendly reminder. When It broke down he hadn't changed the oil in over a year and the car had three different brands of tires on it. There were several other sign of neglect/abuse visible on and in the car. Of course it was always the first thing out of his mouth it was the best car he ever had. Of course it was it was free. Easy come easy go its the last free care he will ever receive from me. I could have given it to someone who would have cared for it and it likely would still be on the road.

Now I just trade them in and that happens now about every twenty years or so.

The owner of the neglected engine could have taken it to Walmart TLE for a sub $20 oil change with QS oil and a Fram oil filter. While they shop around at Walmart. And not worry about being upsold a bunch of other services.

I have a coworker who gets an oil change every 12K or so, they told me the oil change light has been on for months. I would never buy a used car from someone like this, and feel bad for whoever purchases it used.
