Plastic vs. Alum hub centering rings...which do you use?

Recently I upgraded my OEM wheels to a set of Konig's I ordered online.
The wheels look great, but I wasn't pleased with the plastic centering rings provided with the wheels.

After reading the difference on this site, I'm considering purchasing a set of alum. centering rings.

I use plastic just really to take up the space in case. My Hyundai wheels on my Honda are lug centric (as well as factory Honda wheels). I did buy new 19mm lug nuts with the tapered seat for the Hyundai rims. The factory Honda are ball seat versions. I keep one set of the ball seat by spare in case I need to use that. The Hyundai lugs were also 21mm so wanted to make sure factory lug wrench fits.

What was wrong with them?

Honestly, not much. I've never used plastic rings on any of my wheels.
The previous setup I had was OEM (none required) but the only vehicle I had rings on, they were aluminum.

As I understand it, after the wheels are torqued down they really don't support any weight.
In that case, they seem to only be useful when seating the wheel on the hub.
After that, it's up to the lugs to hold everything in place.

I've been lugcentric on many vehicles (cone lugs) with no rings and no problems. If I had to choose, I'd go with plastic, so I don't get any galvanic corrosion. Or if it did corrode, it would still come off with a hammer, LOL.

Bless Toyota and their small hub bores, I've run Dodge Caravan, Mazda 6, and Hyundai Eleantra 5x114.3 rims on my Camrys. And Jetta rims on my Prius with Honda ball-end lug nuts!
