Hey gregk24, in this day of outrageous over-inflated college tuition, kudos for paying your own way through school, holding a job, AND showing the responsibility to care and maintain your car.
From the good advice above, it sounds (no pun intended) like you should get many more miles out of your car in spite of the annoying start up tick.
It seems that there might be some opportunity to play with some different oils and/or additives to lessen the noise. Just keep an eye/ear on it to avert any catastrophy. Is there any chance that the previous valve adjustment was wrong or went bad?
