Pins or similar for Jack Stands

I would if I could but cannot identify the company who made them. The font is all faded on the labels.
I would think there would be universal pins that could be used, or bolts
'Try the McMaster Carr catalog. They usually have something that will work for you. Call them if needs be.

I doubt most places will give advice for lifting or supporting equipment. Maybe “what’s your strongest steel bar of x diameter?” Would work.
I think maybe the pins used for the trailer ball into a hitch receiver?
Any lynch pin oughta work.
Grade 5 or 8 bolts should be fine, too.
Honestly if you have a bolt fail in double shear like that, your time was up. The whole stand should fold upon itself before a bolt or pin in double shear lets go enough to matter.

There must be a shear spec on a clevis pin? Of course its usually spec'd in PSI - so you would need to figure out contact area and such and convert the max load?
Grade 8 or 5 will work perfect. Maybe 5 would be a bit more impact resistant, but the shear strength of either one. Like @D60 said, a double shear failure would just be bad luck, and your ticket was punched that day anyway.
I would not hesitate to use grade 5 or 8 of the appropriate size.

I have a jackstand with a missing pin. A used intake valve seems to work.

I'd think a receiver hitch pin would work fine but the holes look too small. Try a farm supply store?

At $30 - >$60 per (see link, post #14), I suspect there's a pair of Grade 5 or 8 bolts in the OP's future.
I would see if a trailer receiver pin would fit, and hose would certainly be strong for this.
Measure the hole - go down to a hardware store, or a specialty store like Fastenal, (or search online) for a bolt with enough “shoulder” or “shank” to cover the width of the stand. “Partial thread” is how they are described. Plenty strong for your application. Nice smooth sides to fit your hole.

Not sure I would feel comfortable with a threaded bolt.
No comment on the jackstands themselves. I would clean really well and at least visually inspect the welds. Not saying new ones are better though!!

I wouldn’t want a threaded bolt, either. The smooth sides of a proper pin (or, shanked bolt) interface under load differently than threads would. I would worry about a stress riser with threads on thin metal. So, smooth sides.
