Wrong. I speak from experience.
I was an ASE Master Tech at one time, and still have many friends in the consumer car repair business. I know what I saw. I know what friends and former colleagues still see. I can post examples of some old, worn out casings which Treadwright slapped some new rubber onto, which failed in spectacular fashion when the casing failed at highway speed. In one case it was on a Landcruiser which was operating well within it's payload limits, and well below the casings payload limit. The tire was properly inflated, but the mystery casing still failed causing a rollover crash which totaled the vehicle, but fortunately everyone was belted in and miraculously survived.
Buy your possibly cheaper than new, but by no means better mystery casing Treadwrights, if you want. People should know what they are potentially buying.
