I bought my next oil change tonight and I was looking at the bottles and they've noticeably been in storage a long time, on the back it says ilsac gf4 and 3.

I know the most recent is gf5, is the formulation going to be different in these old gf4 bottles, or is it just like same formula put through the new test and upgraded in rating upon passing?

I just wanna make sure this is all the best to put in, it's a 2004 grand prix gtp if that matters at all.

[censored] old stuff

,, joking,,,, its fine.

where did you buy it from? i would be a little ticked off that i was paying current prices for old goods. i would see if you can exchange it for some newer stuff. the new formulations will be better in most aspects than what you got.

I'd bring/send it back if you really did just buy it. I'm sure its fine but.............its old stock for sure.

First off, what kind? Signature, Xl, OE? What viscosity?

I would be happy if I got the "old stuff". I have one oil change left of the Old Signature Series 0w30 before they reformulated it and took the 35,000 mile recommendation away.

Use it and be happy!
