Does anyone know the model number for SuperTech.
Equiv of the ACDELCO 47C

I believe supertech uses the Fram #'s, right??

3387A is correct! Yes ST does use the Fram numbering system. So do the STP filters.

How often do you change your filters? You should be able to find a PF 47 or PF 52 for only a buck more than the ST. The AC's have more filter area.

It's the same filter I used to use on my 81 Olds Omega I had in high school 10 years ago (until it gave up the ghost)....same filter on my wife's Lumina.....also had a friend with a Bonneville that used the same filter..........

After seeing those same numbers over and over.......47...3387A...47...3387A.....it gets burned onto your retinas!!

BTW...wonder which filter is used on most different nuber of applications than others??

Also.....what was wrong with the 3387 that Fram had to produce a 3387A???? HHHMMMMM.......

The S-T is so much better than the Fram, is the A-C that much better than the S-T?

I base much of my opinions of oil filters on the measurements of filter
area from filters I have used on my truck. The numbers, Fram PH
3950 84 sq. in., ST 3950 171 sq. in., AC PF 1177 255 sq. in. Since I
am having trouble finding the PF 1177, I am using the ST. Before I
knew better, my truck survived years of Frams.

Hey everyone,Maybe the 'A' in the 3387A stands for Anti-Drain Back Valve.If there used to be a 3387 maybe it didnt have one and it was needed for some of the applications it fits.Just a thought.

In this filter size the areas were:

ST 124
AC (champ) 131
AC (delphi) 130
Purolator 140
Fram 99

Construction is the same, media is different.

PF 52 is = to ST3980, right? been thinking about using that instead of the ST3387A on the silverado

Go ahead and use it.I have a 1998 malibu 3.1L and have been using the pf52 instead of the pf47.The 52 is just longer.Yes the cross # for the pf52 is st3980 or ph3980 for fram.
