Performance issues with my stihl blower/vac

Mine is a little more than a split second, and oddly it only seems to do it after bringing it back down to idle after I've had it at full throttle for an extended period of time, but like I said, I'll run a few more tanks through it until I really worry about it. But it runs so much better out of the box than either of the 56's I had. Oddly enough, I swear I get more vibration through the handle of the 86 than I did with the 56's, which would be odd considering it has the anti-vibe and rubber coated handle, but maybe its in my head.

Remember, the engine has a big fan attached. And the carburetor has no accelerator pump. So throttle response is going to be slightly sluggish no matter what. You can always try to enrichen the mixture slightly to assist acceleration.

Ultralight aircraft with 2 stroke engines, driving a fixed pitch prop have exactly the same issue. They don't "jump" to high RPM quickly, from idle while at a standstill. They spool up slowly, and often require slow throttle movement. (in flight is different, as the load is lower on the prop at idle, so response is much better)
