Maybe I'm crazy, but I've never had my engine so quiet. Didn't drive anywhere. Just sat in the driveway let it idle and took the RPMs up. Sounds much quieter and smoother.

FL820s as always.

Probably keeping it in there for two years, unless I get scared first. I only do 3 to 4000 miles a year and most of the winter it just sits there.

133,600 mi

As a former 5.4L owner, I'd recommend TC-W3 in this regard.

+1....assuming this is a conventional oil, I would not go more than 5K on it.

Ran Pennzoil High Mileage 5w30 this summer in my 1996 4.6L and it ran fine. Last change went to Quaker State High Mileage 5w30 and thats fine, too. For many years it ran on either formula shell or Quaker State Conventional and it ran fine on those.

Made my GM 3.1 engine noticeably quieter too, and it was my previous fill before MaxLife.

But I have found the magic juice for my GM 3.1, and that is MaxLife synthetic blend. No idea what Valvoline is putting in this oil because VOA's don't reveal much about it, but I will say it's the quietest my 3.1 has ever been. Honestly, I got the MaxLife for free by jumping through hoops to get a $20.00 rebate for a five quart jug that cost me up front $19.00 out the door. Otherwise, I would be using Pennzoil High Mileage right now, and not knowing how good Valvoline MaxLife is.

Maxlife good

Most big refiners High Mileage oils are a real bargain for what they deliver

I did over 10k on Mobil Super 5000 through an FU that already had 9k on it, and my used oil analysis was awesome.
