Pentius PLXL Cases

The PLXL10060's I bought off Amazon last month are Korean and don't have an obvious date code on the filters. There's a sticker on the box that shows shipping from Pentius to the USA that is dated January of 2025.

As an aside, I returned one box to Amazon. During the return, they offered to refund me $12 plus the applicable tax if I would keep the box. I didn't need that many filters, but it would've been a 12 pack of XL PGI's for $46.

Mine is 17MHM1740 bought about six months ago on Amazon.
Someone showed a pic of a hole not fully punched and the disk still hanging on in there. Casting doubt is powerful, so I never used it.
Clearly Pentius wants USA to be bigger on the new label and prc not quite as visible to the buyer. Also with prc some wont know that means made in china.
Mine has big Korea in front, little USA on the side.

The PLXL10575 filters have the code printed with bright ink. The PLXL2 filters have the code printed in dark ink and I had to really hunt for it. It took a flashlight and magnifying glass for me to be able to read it.

Yeah, gotta save 25 cents worth of ink a year. Then when the day becomes two digits, the new hire guy uses a Sharpie to put the other day digit on the filter, but there would have to be a blank space for that 2nd digit to start with.

You ever seen the insides of a Fortune 100 company production facility? They would literally sell their mother to save the company a few dollars a year on stuff.

it's always on the top of the filter but you need to be in very bright lighting or shine a flashlight on it.

Yes. From my case bought in December.

has to be the factory code because everybody has it apparently and this guy below was able to locate a manufacture date on the case box of July 8 2023.. you should check out your box and see what it shows in this location :

Your's looks like 22' ?? .. Not sure how he knows that is the manufacture date but just saw his post mentioning that:

Looks like 2022 to me.

Just chiming in that neither of mine had a shipping label on the carton. At this point I am comfortable that they are of recent production.

You ever seen the insides of a Fortune 100 company production facility? They would literally sell their mother to save the company a few dollars a year on stuff.

If a reputable company has slow movers and they get old, they surplus them out wholesale. Rock Auto, ebay sellers etc, buy them up.
Like there are still Toyota filters sold on ebay with the all red boxes, must be five years already they started using red and white boxes.
Companies having sensible date codes aren’t hiding anything, Toyotas code doesn’t seem to mean anything, maybe to them the have a decoder.

I did contact Pentius about the 17MHM2840 date code. I will share their response if I hear back from them.

2) Pentius PLXL10060 showing “17MHM1840.”
