From what I have seen, it looks like the 7317 and the 6607 are the same thing, expect the 7317 is a little longer. Same bypass set point. In fact, I think a lot of the cheapy quick lube places only carry the 6607, so likely a lot of vehicles that spec the 7317 are running around with a 6607 spun on.These will also work for quite a few SxSs, although may be a little too long for some applications
What is the difference other than a silicone ADBV?Excellent price, but I prefer the Pentius extended life filters.
It looks like the media is a little different. The extended life says 99% at 20 microns. The standard filter doesn't publish a rating that I see (I may be wrong, but I don't see one.) Having used the Extended life, and cut open the filter here on BITOG, the media does appear to be different. The extended life also has a silicone ADBV and a silicone gasket. What is the difference other than a silicone ADBV?
Thanks for your assessment. These are the best deal going for 3-5k oci’s IMO.
Yes.Thanks for your assessment.
Would the Pentius PLB $2 filter be better made than the Super Tech and Purolator Tech filters?
Also, does the Pentius PLB $2 filters have any visible defects that could leak unfiltered oil?
Thanks, that is very helpful.
Same. When I can get a case of the better ones for $5/ea I don’t see the value proposition of going even cheaper.Excellent price, but I prefer the Pentius extended life filters.
