“Pentius 7317 oil filter. This is brand new. I purchased a case of these on Amazon, 12 for $19 and curious to see the quality.

looks serviceable. the glue was sloppy and flakey but otherwise looks good. nitrile ADBV was a little stiff already. love the heavy duty coil spring. the can jumped off the base plate when cut apart.

There's a 20% coupon now, taking the cost down to $19.95. I didn't really need another case but at that price I couldn't resist.

I've cut open a 3614 and a 6607 after running them and both were in good shape and seemingly well made. I'll eventually be running them on all my vehicles.

From what I have seen, it looks like the 7317 and the 6607 are the same thing, expect the 7317 is a little longer. Same bypass set point. In fact, I think a lot of the cheapy quick lube places only carry the 6607, so likely a lot of vehicles that spec the 7317 are running around with a 6607 spun on.

It looks like the media is a little different. The extended life says 99% at 20 microns. The standard filter doesn't publish a rating that I see (I may be wrong, but I don't see one.) Having used the Extended life, and cut open the filter here on BITOG, the media does appear to be different. The extended life also has a silicone ADBV and a silicone gasket.

Same filter as the parts plus I have. Easy 5k intervals and probably the whole length of the OLM. I paid less than $2 a piece though.
