My P4 is 2.80 GHz. How do I ascertain cache size and if it's 533 or 800MHz FSB? Socket is N-478 (mPGA478).

HP Quickspecs says d530 SFF could be 2.8/512K/533 or 2.8/1024/800. I'll try that link. Many tks..s

depends if it can be found cheaply. Updated MB and CPU's are cheap.

Only if your motherboard can actually support 800 FSB.

Yes it was an option from HP.
It's the only mPGA478 CPU I can find.
If you can get it cheap and it will work, go for it.
My computer is a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 HT 1MB L2 800MHz FSB. Its the fastest computer I have since I killed my Athlon X2. Sure its not a mind blower, but its got enough power for most tasks outside of heavy gaming.. With my nVidia 9800 GT I can play 1080P Movies!
