Might make a good "additive" to "optimise" one or the other 5W-40s.

Note to others, anything xw-20 is pretty rare down here.

They don't list the numbers, but apparently the ZDDP numbers are too high for a DD. May damage the cat.
 
What car are you wanting to use it in? Its probably a bit extreme for a DD as mentioned. Penrite do make other oils worth considering.

Yes the VI at 151 is low but it undoubtedly contains no VIIs.
I do like the PAO/ester chemistry and the Phos level of 1320 ppm is not too high for street use; about the same as Red Line.

toyota62, this oil is not "too light" since it must have a HTHSV of at least 2.6cP. This oil would be fine for any application that specifies a 20wt oil. In fact due to it's low VI for a 0W oil, it will be heavier on start-up at typical temp's than all other 0W-20 oils. It's 151 VI is typical of most 5W-20 conventional oils that are common here in North America.
 
toyota62, I just noticed you mentioned the application was for a 2011 VE SS V8. That sure isn't your Honda Accord and I'm pretty sure Holden doesn't spec' a 20wt oil for anything.

Not saying not to use it but I wouldn't without an oil pressure gauge, besides if the car is still under warranty that could be an issue.

BTW, how does the Penrite compare to the superior FUCHS Titan GT-1 0W-20 on price? Potential warranty issues notwithstanding, you could use the heavier FUCHS oil (HTHSV 2.8cP) in a light 30wt application without issue.

Thanks for the reply.Yes not in my Honda.VE Doesn't recommend xxw-20 engine oils yet.I do have a factory fitted oil pressure gauge.Fuchs $80 for 4L jug.Penrite around $70 for a 5L jug little cheaper.
I may try Penrite 5w30 instead of 0w-20 as the vehicle is still under new car warranty.

If you are going 5w30, Supercheap Auto's Calibre branded 5w30 synthetic looks pretty OK for $46.95 for 5.5 litres.
