why won't they post their specs sheets? For months the website says it's being upgraded. It is possible their tests haven't resulted in the numbers they had expected?

New product data sheets will be up when the new specs API SN - ILSAS GF-5 officially go in to effect on October 1.

No, it is not possible their test haven't resulted in the numbers they had expected.

I wouldn't say it's not possible. However, I would agree with your first statement. If they're upgrading the site and going to new specs, why put a new version of the old specs out when new specs will be coming in around a month? Perhaps they should have left the old ones up, but such is life.

you can get them online from the Shell Catalogue site. Nothing has changed spec-wise with new 'SN' formulation.

yes but bothers me that a company doesn't care about fixing a broken link for that long. Why couldn't they just reroute to the shell site then ? or remove the datasheet option/button from the product page. Thats embarassingly lame in my personal opinion.

Contact them directly and find out.

You should check the EssoMobil site, then. They have some real "gems" going on, too, with broken links and outdated spec sheets.

I agree. The word I got from a phone call to SOPUS is that their "technical people" (geeks) weren't "people friendly" and were holding up progress on updating the links. He also mentioned how the current Shell catalogue is a mess for the same reason. He also said the tech people don't understand motor oil. I said they don't need to understand it to post a link. It doesn't surprise me, some of the least qualified/uninitiated I.T. people I have met work for school districts (govn't agencies) and big oil companies.

I know it's something absolutely silly and minuscule, but it's actually frustrating me. Once ever couple of months I'll want to go look something up and I keep getting the same page. It's reached a point that despite making fine product, I don't really give Pennzoil much thought when thinking about what oil I want to try this winter
