No that's robbery. On sale it will probably be Around $28-34 a jug. I got a few 4.73 liter jugs of PPPP last year on sale for $26 and change. Napa up here has Ultra on sale once a year for under $40 a jug.

The only time oil is at an acceptable price is when it's on sale, otherwise we are being ripped off up here.
Collect your Canadian Tire money, shop the sales, and it's al good, Pay full price I guess you have more money than brains!

Still waiting to see PU at my local CTC.

Glad to see (finally) PUP here, so no reason left to visit Detroit

No one will (should) buy that for $57, worth buying if less than $35 cdn when it's on sale.

If they'd just have everyday reasonable pricing, none of this would be an issue. How many people could they eliminate from their marketing department for their elaborate weekly flyers, web and paper?

My oil changes are based on time and/or mileage, not upon when Canadian Tire has a sale on my oil of choice.

Can't you buy a big jug of redline oil or amsoil for that kinda money? Lol.....Canada. Gotta love this place man. Car related parts and product are cheaper in Uganda I think.

It is what it is, oil is expensive here. We don't have many options, only Walmart or Cdn Tire here in ON. That's why we all have oil stashes

To me, it is "buy it when it's on sale, for multiple OCI's, and keep changing it based on time/mileage". Otherwise, you have to cross the border or you will get drilled.

If you're ever out west, take a peak. It's quite the experience, to say the least.

Or, just go to the distributor. I get Delvac 1 from Imperial Oil every day for a price that beats all but the very, very best sales WM or CT have. The Shell distributor does pretty well with Formula Shell, too, should I choose a PCMO.

That's a good question. Finding Red Line at that price in Canada might be a bit of a stretch; with Amsoil, it wouldn't be so hard. If Canadian Tire thought they could sell Red Line at $11 to $12 per litre and make what they considered an effective profit out of it, they'd be doing so. They cleared out Red Line ages ago. I'm surprised Canadian Tire has hung onto Royal Purple this long.

Canadian Tire and Walmart, along with a few other bigger box stores here, are under the mistaken belief that oil needs to be marked up by 150% to 200%, and then slashed to create a colourful sale every few weeks, when a jobber outlet tries to keep the markup on the same product under 20%.
