Need to purchase a five quart bottle of Ultra Platinum 5w20. Looked at my local Walmart, while shopping and of course no Ultra. But, I knew that. Went home to order from Walmart.com, and is no longer available. I could only find the link to old Ultra or a link for a three pack sale, which was an obvious mistake.

Money is a little tight, so can't afford amazon right now.

Interesting. Cannot find in a new search tonight either. Hopefully they are updating its listing or something. I luckily stocked up months ago and maxed out Pennzoil's yearly rebate. How much is it at Amazon...remember to knock off $10 on a 5qt jug with rebate.

I've been pondering that idea! It's unobtainable. Tiring looking for Ultra. But, if you call the 800 number, they assure you that Walmart sells their oil. When Ultra disappeared from the shelves a few years ago, I called them and they lied to me, assuring that wasn't going to happen, which it did. Back then there was only 1 store in 8, that sold Ultra. Now, none of them do.

I'm second generation Pennzoil fan. But other companies have great customer service. I could write all night.......

There are way to many good synthetics available for a lot less money to worry about Pennzoil. They have basically put themselves out of the game in my book!

Just get the Platinum. It's very good oil in its own right. There are also many good choices out there. Any oil from a major brand will serve you well.

I happened to be at the right place at the right time with my purchase of ultra platinum 5w20. Have not been actively following it at Walmart in past years. I would look at running Castrol Magnatec 5w20.. on sale now for $15 ish and has some great UOAs on here. I do get your frustration as you have a certain comfort level with Pennzoil products.

Interesting...When I was shopping Castrol Magnatec, Amazon was the same price or better than Walmart. But Amazon's prices do fluctuate more than most stores. Just need to be patient...

Why the He double toothpick reference if you're the one choosing to shop there?

Is someone forcing you?

As stated, plenty of great Synthetic oils out there besides Ultra.

Penzoil Platinum
Valvoline Synpower
Calstrol Magnatec, Edge
QS Ultimate
what that other brand that is sometimes talked about....... oh yeah Mobile 1.

Even Super Tech synthetic is good oil for reasonable OCIs. (

Your engine will be perfectly happy with any of these.

I agree that there are plenty of other good oils out there too. With that I've run platinum and ultra platinum and didn't notice a difference. Maybe I'm a fool for marketing but I love it when I can get ultra platinum. Both products make my hemi run pretty quiet. I picked up PUP in late July off Amazon for 23.99 5 quart.. it's not priced too high on Amazon right now.41.99 and a 10 dollar rebate so it's 31.99.
