I sent this sample of virgin oil to Blackstone to get numbers on the batch before i ran it in my car. I plan to run a used oil analysis on the same oil after 3000-4000 miles.

The quart i took this from was shaken and opened new just prior to taking sample.

Oil: Pennzoil 10W30 (Yellow bottle dino)
Packaging: Single quart containers

Thanks...I thought a couple of the numbers looked a tad low, but all i had to go by is the 5w30 sample done by another lab. I'll be interested to see how it looks when it comes out of my engine in a couple of months.

I'm happy i got this done though, if for no other reason than to see the 1 reading of iron, so i can subtract that out when i get the UOA done.

What form of Boron do you think Pennzoil uses?

They are upping the amounts in all their oils and seem to be dropping/eliminating the amounts of MoTDC.

Would this be Hexagonal Boron Nitride (hBN)?
