Hello BITOG Members,

Pennzoil here! Starting today, we invite you to submit your questions in this thread for Pennzoil ambassador Chelsea DeNofa. Questions can range from his career in Formula DRIFT to his own maintenance tips!

As you may know, Chelsea, an acclaimed professional drifter, has carved a niche in the motorsports world with his bold and assertive driving style. Beginning his career in his teenage years, Chelsea quickly made a name for himself with daring maneuvers and technical skill. He recently concluded his Formula DRIFT career as the third-most winning driver in series history, capturing the 2023 Formula DRIFT Championship behind the wheel of the Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD powered by Pennzoil. Beyond his competitive achievements, Chelsea contributes to the sport’s growth through workshops and online tutorials to help drivers be more sustainable and successful in all forms of drifting. His entrepreneurial ventures and mentorship roles underscore his dedication to advancing drifting, making him a pivotal figure in the community and a source of inspiration for the next generation of drivers.

This thread will be open for submissions from 6/25/2024 until 7/2/2024. We will publish Chelsea’s answers on a separate BITOG thread.

The Pennzoil team is excited to kick off this opportunity! Please note:[/I]

We are thrilled to kick off another BITOG community event!

Chelsea,

I have several questions about the cars you drove.

- When I watch drift races, it sounds like the engine has a rev limiter while in the corners. Is there a rev limiter?
- Lots of RPMs and not that much air flow in corners likely leads to some really hot engines. How are the engines kept cool? What is the hottest water and oil temperatures normally seen during a drift race?
- How often are the engines torn down for inspection?
- How often is engine damage found?
- Which Pennzoil engine oil(s) were run in the engines?
- How did the Pennzoil hold up in the engines?
- How many spare engines did you take to races?
- How often did you have an engine fail? If you had failures, what part/system failed?
- What type of transmission do drift cars run?
- How long does a set of rear tires last?

Thank you for taking the time to answer our question!

Got to meet Chelsea at FD St. Louis in 2019, he's a rad dude.

- How many BMW's do you think you've owned so far?
- What is your favorite non-FD track to drift?
- What was the biggest challenge to swapping an Ecoboost in your Fox Body drift car?
- What chassis do you think will be the next trend for grassroots/ProAm drifting?
- What is your long-term plan for your Cayman drift car?
- Who are your top 5 rappers?
- Why doesn't RTR use Aerocatch hood latches instead of hood pins?
