Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic??????

What does anyone know about Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic?

It comes in: 0w20, 5w20, 3w30, 10w30, 5w50, 15w50

My interest was sparked with a Checker Sales Flyer, selling up to a case for $1.99 a quart. (By the way, Bosch Premium Filers are also on sale for $2.97)

Good luck finding other than 5W-20, 5w30, or 10w30. 3W-30 is a Synergen viscosity. The European blends are hard to find. PP is a good synthetic and not too expensive as well. $2 a qt is an excellent price! Wish we had that deal over this way.

Pep Boys has it advertised at 1.99 after rebate, two cases maximum. That's when I buy it. Great UOA results with it.

Great oil. I've been waiting for a sale on PP for quite sometime now. I am almost done with my stash (6 cases worth). I got them for $.99/qt at Kragen last time it had a sale. Time to go shopping for oil.

I just got back from my local Kragen. They only had 4 cases left and I bought all 4. The checkout lady said I was very "special". I told her, you don't understand, I am addicted to oil

I think the rebate is only good for 6 quarts so watch out for that...

You are correct. The oil on the shelf is about $6.74 a quart. You can buy all you want at $4.99 a quart. You only get a $2.00 mail-in rebate for the first 6 quarts. But, they also have the $19.99 deal for 5 quarts of Mobil 1 with the Mobil 1 filter.

By the way, they honored the $4.99 price for Mobil 1 R4T Motorcycle, which is usually at $8.99 a quart. I purchased 6 quarts, which will fill up my Strom twice.

You can also ask for the 'online order, pick up discount', which is another 10%.

I also picked up 12 quarts of Chevron Supreme conventional for my son's old [censored] Wrangler at $0.99 a quart.

All told, I got 4 Bosch Filters, 1 Mobil 1 filter, enough oil for 7 oil changes for just less than $100. Not bad for premium oil filters and mainly synthetic oil.

$4.99 a quart is significantly more than the cost per quart in the 5 quart jugs at Walmart. If you aren't going to be able to get a rebate on them, I'd take them back.

Agree 100%. PP at Wal-mart is $3.80 everyday. I picked up 36 quarts last night of $1.99 PP and 72 quarts of 99 cent Chevron.

(I have 5 family members who will assist with the rebates

)

Aren't those PP for $1.99(coupon) rebate stuff only for 1 case(6 qts) per person. How did you pick up 6 cases at $1.99 a quart?

In the flyer, the limit says 1 Case. Wouldn't the rebate apply to the whole case? The coupon also says a minimum of 6 quarts for the rebate. I'm really tempted to go get some oil and filters

I bought 4 cases yesterday. All you need is a different adderss for each rebate, OR a different name for the same address. Kragen is really good about their rebates. I never had a rebate fail on me.

Checkers cashier rang up 6 quarts of PP (and 1 case of chevron) six times using the same coupons.

I've just got to get the paperwork done. Never over the years have I had ANY problems with their rebates.

Pennzoil Platinum only comes in cases of 6, not in cases of 12 unfortunately.

Went the oil industry went to plastic bottles the size of a case went from 24 cans to 12 bottles.

Now it has gone from 12 quarts of conventional to only 6 quarts of syn. (so a case is close to the same price no matter what type of oil you buy)

EXCEPT Amsoil. They have their cases of Full Synthetic at 12 to a box.

I'd love to see 24 quarts to a real case like it used to be.
