I just wanted to through this thought out, I am using Wal-Mart Super Tech conventional oil for my rinse phase and I am noticing my car is running a little bit hotter, since Pennzoil Platinum as well as Amsoil XL are Group III oil's could I use them for the rinse phase of Auto-Rx or is it better to stick with plain conventional oil, meaning would the Pennzoil Platinum not rinse as well, I have not done anything yet, and I am just looking for some comments or anyone with knowledge about this subject.

Auto-RX states we can use any Group III oil for the rinse and clean phase. PP is a group III so you should be good.
I would however continue to use SuperTech for the rinse and clean phase as this oil does not have a strong ad-pack and should work well with Auto-RX chemistry for best results. BTW, I hear Auto-RX works better on an engine that is nice and hot so you may be, in a win-win situation!
What kind of car is this in? It should not be running any hotter with SuperTech than it did with PP, assuming all other variables are the same. Are you racing this vehicle?

This car is a 1983 Chevrolet El Camino and I do not race it, I am probably not too far from you, I live right outside of Laytonsville, all I have to do is hop on I-70 down to 695 and I am close to Baltimore, are you in Towson or near Fell's Point. Right now I am on my final rinse phase, and I used the Super Tech for the Clean Phase.
I'm actually in Mt. Washington/Pikesville area. We should get a local BITOG meet going with members from our area!
I live off of exit 22 on I-695, about 15 mins. away from Downtown Baltimore/Inner Harbor.

It is possible that the PP that you own is not group III. It may be the original EOP formula. If it says "New Formula" on the bottle, it will be group III though.

I've seen both old and new style labels on quarts of PP at K-mart here, and just looked up a picture of the bottles and I see where the quarts now say New Improved Formula. I just looked at my 5 quart jug of 5W-20 and it doesn't say that anywhere on it.

The only way to tell, that I'm aware of, is the new formula label on all bottles. You could probably tell by the date code too (I think Nov 2005 or 2006 was the change over).
EOP has similar characteristics to PAO, but is categorized as a group V (others) because it isn't a true PAO.

I was at K-Mart this morning and I took a couple pics of the different Pennzoil synthetics they had.

I was also at Walmart and the quart bottles looked different than the ones on the first pic on the right. None of the Pennzoil Platinum jugs or bottles they had said anything about "New Improved". Just New, then a list of 3 different thing or something. I should have taken pics for comparison.
I think K-mart is sitting on some old stock. And I saw 2 old design jugs at Walmart in 5W-20.

The bottle on the left in both pics is not PP at all. The one on the right in both pics is group III PP.
Yeah, I know the others aren't PP. Are they any good though? If I'm reading the date codes right, the funny looking jugs in the second pic are from 2004.
I used it for several years before the PP came out. It made for a very quiet engine, but that's about all that I can remember about it. No used oil analysis.
Shell Helix Ultra is the same oil and I'm using it for my RX clean/rinse. Should be fine imo.
