This is when you are more than happy you have a stash that has a cost of under $20 a jug! It's been awhile since I went into an AA store. I saw 5qt jugs of PUP for $40.99 and PUP qts for $12.99 (may have been $13.99 can't remember). I didn't know PUP was available in stores.
I don’t think Pennzoil would insure a 500k mileage if they weren’t sure on the oil. When it comes to Pennzoil Platinum and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30 I have heard that it is not a solid 5w30. Is it true that it is a extremely weak 5w30?
My truck calls for 5w30 and it has 148k on it and I want to make sure I'm taking good care of my truck.
Also PUP is 38 dollars on the Walmart appIt's been awhile since I went into an AA store. I saw 5qt jugs of PUP for $40.99 and PUP qts for $12.99 (may have been $13.99 can't remember). I didn't know PUP was available in stores.
Two very good choices for sure !Summer too Chris.
The two best selling brand names in SN+ and SP 5w30 are Pennzoil Platinum and Mobil-1 Vanilla.
I seriouly doubt America's vehicle buyers are getting those two choices wrong.
I started my Accord with it this winter at -6 Fahrenheit and it was the easiest cold start I've ever had.PPPP 5W30 makes for a fine winter oil .
That's because it's so weakI started my Accord with it this winter at -6 Fahrenheit and it was the easiest cold start I've ever had.
Fahrenheit kicks the snot out of Accords all the time. That's because it's so weak![]()
I am switching to PP HM 5w30 @ my next oil change 50,000 miles, in my 2020 Ford Edge 2.0 It starts out at 100c cSt 11.0 with 7,000 mile oci. I think may be better for the turbo. PP is on sale right now for less than $24 for 5qt jug #Walmart and Pennzoil has a $25 rebate thru Sept 2024 on 2 jugs. Brings cost down to less than $3 per qt.What is a HUGE Mileage Oil?
Do you think the PP HM 5w30 would shear out of grade in a 7,000 mile OCI ?I am switching to PP HM 5w30 @ my next oil change 50,000 miles, in my 2020 Ford Edge 2.0 It starts out at 100c cSt 11.0 with 7,000 mile oci. I would just stay with the PP , Amzoil is not worth the price.Do you think if I switched from Pennzoil Plat. to Amsoil SS 5w30 that I can drive a full year 6-7Kmiles with my 99% in town driving?
The regular PP 5W30 Is 9.8 cSt and they both comply with Ford requirements. I live in Montana and want to stay with the 5W30 for cold temp. Going to try the HM & Send the oil for analysis to see. The only reason I do a 7,000 mile oci is it is one oil change per year. Some years I only go 6,000 miles. Been using PP 5W30 since after the first oil change using Mobil 1 5W30. I noticed a tic tic tic noise after 7,000 miles. No tic tic tic with the PP 5W30 Last 4 oil changes. A friend who is a mechanic and works at the local Ford dealer said I should be OK. I will update after oil analysis.Do you think the PP HM 5w30 would shear out of grade in a 7,000 mile OCI ?
The Amsoil Extended Line is good and 100% Synthetic and with the preferred membership price it’s right in line with the all the GRP III oils on the shelves at Walmart AutoZone ETC. and shipped right to your door . I’m using my CoWorkers membership it’s been great so farI would just stay with the PP , Amzoil is not worth the price.
