slickracer: Note sure what parts store chains you have in PA or what part of PA you live in. Pep Boys, Advanced Auto, Checker, Target, Tractor Supply, and maybe Sears. I did not know about Wal-Mart bringing it in, but that would be good news to me. If your in the Pittsburg area, we have direct operations there that you could buy direct from.

I picked some up this week at an O'Reilly Auto Parts store. May want to check them out if one is near you. Prices were in line. It was a nickle a quart cheaper than QS ATF at the local Walmart, for what that's worth.

On my parents 1993 Olds we had the local Goodyear fill it with 12qts of

Penzoil Dexron/Mercon 5 'Synthetic' Blend

That was 20,000miles ago..shifts smooth, color is healthy-new, no burnt smell. Also 2 bottles of Lucas Trans additive were added.

BTW - I was not a member of this forum of then but knowing new information I would have added the Auto-RX medic before the flush. Interesting the front wheel drive car's transmission has 184,000miles!!! No slip, orignial factory transmission with no rebuild ever! (knock on wood that holds out) That is why i am such a proponent of the more expensive Transmission Flushing machines

Then again it could be good quality parts by GM and driving habits here?
