Can't find any posts where someone used HPL in a 4l60e.

I've got an original 4l60e in my C1500 with close to 400k on it. I've used Maxlife in the past, but am considering HPL due to the 4th of July sale. The 4l60e originally specs Dexron III. I know that Dexron VI is supposed to be backwards compatible with Dexron III.

Would you use Blue Dexron III or Green Dexron VI in this transmission?

I would go blue as it is closer to the original viscosity specified in your transmission.

I use the Blue in the Volvos that have automatics, and that specified a JWS-3309 that was about the same viscosity as a DEX-III.

I use the Green in the Mercedes and the Tundra that were a LV specification.

I was wondering this exact same thing, I have a 4l80e and a Ford 6r80 that both need fluid. I've heard dex VI is ok for the 4l80, which means the Green would work for both. Would be nice to buy just one kind

Same. Our 7g-tronic got the Green CC to most closely match the MB factory fluid.
