Toyota says to change super long pink coolant every 50k miles after the 100k miles, Peak asian coolant says it is good for 150k miles or 5 years. If i used peak asian coolant in my 4runner, Which recommended interval should I follow? Is peak asian coolant really better than Toyota pink superlonglife?

The car care nut suggests 5 years or 50k miles from new. That initial 100k interval was too long. Use Toyota pink not aftermarket

I got the Peak Asian Pink/Red coolant at Walmart when they had it clearance for $6 a jug. Got 3 of them. I wasn't sure if mine was changed or not at 100,000, bought the car with 136,000, I changed it at 145,000 and planned to do it again at 200,000 and then every 50,000. I drained the radiator and the 2nd drain on the engine block to do 2 gallons.

Is there really a difference between Toyota pink and Peak Asian?

One is Toyota and one is Peak Asian, lol. As someone who always uses original parts, I would use the Toyota for peace of mind. Have you seen any of the Toyota head gasket stuff recently? Why risk it?

I was just wondering. I used Zerex G05 in place of the Mopar fluid for just under 200k without any issues, still on the original water pump. I don't know brought aboth Toyota coolant, but it specifically lists Toyota/Lexus/Scion as well as Hyundai/Kia MY21+. Being that specific, and not listing other Asian makes, I would assume that it was the "equivalent" to Toyota, not just a universal one size fits all coolant.

Peak is gong to all-makes coolant. This business of different coloured coolants is just marketing. Prestone has also gone to all makes coolant with 10 year and now 15 year coolants. You can do what grandpa did or move on. Flame suit on. 😷
