Never seen such a thing in all my life! The PCV valve on my 2005 Impala (3400 V6) has a bracket over it that prevents its removal. The "bracket" seems to be riveted in from all appearances. Any suggestions on how to remove the bracket and PCV valve?

Does your Impala have less than 80k on it?

If so it is covered by the federal emissions warranty.

Check your warranty booklet and check for the specifics some warranties can be as high as 120k and 10 years.

Yeah I remember reading about that. I think around 05 they started making it harder to tamper with emission stuff. So the automakers tried to make the PCV harder to mess with.

Are you sure it's riveted? I just did a 04 3.8L and it had a cover over it that just pushed down and twisted out.

I was going to attach a picture from the GM service manual of the 05 3.4L pcv but this site doesn't let you attach images from your computer, only images from the web from what I can see. It says to remove the vacuum hoses to the FPR and PCV and then remove the PCV and replace, nothing special according to the GM manual.
