Killing innocents as retaliation against the killing of innocents is crazy, and will certainly increase the number of people prepared to do such attrocities.

no, I'm not really serious, but if you look back to WWII, wiping out two cities, seriously shortened the pacific war. I will admit the surrounding context of WWII is completely different.

I don't really have or know the solution to the problem.

We can call the people anything we want but they are the bad guys. Kill them all and let allah seperate them. Not nice but they would do the same. by the way I would rather not have the war in Iraq.

USSR (in the late 70's - early 80's (?)) had some hostages taken in the middle east (little play here in the west)....the RUsskies went in country, killed the hostage takers, the hostage takers families, the hostage takers family's friends.

Guess what? Problem solved. Even the STUPID terrorists found out the price was too high.....if the Saudi Arabians want to help (sometimes I have my doubts) they would exterminate the roots too. Which also means stop the bullshiite that al Qu'eda is a Jewish Terrorist group, stop the brainwashing....

I know IRAQ is NOT directly involved here....BUTT as much as the dear price we have paid and ONLY true history will tell, sometimes I think the mental midget we call our President is correct: A truly free Iraq will sure be a help.....
Is it going to happen? NOW is the time for the world to help. IF Europe, the world, UN and Annan really care they would be 150% committed to a free and prosperous Iraq NOW....but France and the Gonad Cartel (sometimes I swear lead by Mike Moore) are too busy hating the USA and telling us that "Bush is Evil"...to even see events unfold to the point of missing perfect opportunities.

To hold out hope that fonebone Kerry will be elected and end 4 years of "**** " are more of a joke (at several levels) than we can imagine......

As much as it saddens me to have to agree, I think every adult American needs to see those pictures. The niceties of good taste and decency, traditionally a basic part of how Americans communicate with one another, serve only to help camoflage the maniacs with whom we must deal. Look at these pictures. Pray for Mr. Johnson and his family. But most importantly, let sink in the reality of who it is that's out there and what they are bent on doing.

This morning, news is reporting that the terrorist were actually helped by Saudi Arabia. They were supposedly given uniforms and a patrol car to set up a fake road block, that is how they got Paul.

I think these Islamist extremists, and actually all Muslims are in for it. People are starting to get fed up now. More now then before I think. I agree with GSV, this is what we are up against. It's time for us to all unite and take out this cancer. It's to late to change policies or direction right now. Iran could be next. These radicals need to be killed. There is no policy or appeasement that works against this type of enemy. S.Arabia and all the other Muslim nations better get their shiite in gear bc once the gloves come off, their done too. S.Arabia cannot have it both ways. We could make a giant parking lot out of that area of the world and the day could be comming. I'm more liberal then most on BITOG, but I don't see a liberal/appeasement solution to this problem. It's just out of control.

I haven't seen much, if any, new support for joining WW-IV. It is mostly a US effort, and will remain so unless we elect JF Kerry and turn this over to the fearless UN bureaucrats. France is still mad they lost a strategic ally and mastermind of the great UN ripoff "oil for food" scam, Saddam Hussein.

Al-Qaeda have stated that they will kill all Americans. Are we going to take them out, or watch the UN do nothing and wait here at home for the next attack? Afghanistan and Iraq are just the beginning. Iran is primed, and Saudi Arabia needs to wise up fast. This war can and must be won, or else we will be looking over our shoulders all the time.

Pablo - You sure won't see the 30 odd Iraqi's who died in Abu Ghraib in qustionable circumstsnces on TV. A few are already being prosecuted as murder. And I see some US Military legal guy has made Abu Ghraib a crime scene as of today. The guys at the top will get off scott free which is the real crime IMO.
