You mean the testing is set up to give Intel processors an advantage, or Intel processors seem to generally perform better? I could read your statement either way.

In general, Intel processors perform better. But what I meant is that, compared to other benchmarks, the lead that passmark gives to Intel is greater than other benchmarks. I don't claim to know why, and thought maybe someone else is in a better position to guess than me.

the AMD E-series is basically a netbook processor with halfway decent integrated graphics.

even a b815 sandybridge celeron will score 1500.. but the build in graphics may be lesser.

That gives it a 727 for passmark. Many laptops around $400 use it. I got a HP Pavilion laptop last year with a AMD Phenom II N660 Dual Core and its 1829 for the passmark.

It seems like if you do not do some homework, there are a lot of [censored] laptops out there you may end up with.

I have yet to see a n660 here

everything is e300 e450 e350

I bought my gf an b815 celeron (sandybridge based) acer for 265$ at microcenter.. it was the best thing there until you got to 379$

then they had some b940?(something like that) celerons that were better.

The deal this month is an e300 for 279$ its passmark rating is less than half the acer from last month.

I did disable windows aero on the acer and it flies. With aero on it had occassional slight studders on full screen flash video. Without aero on everything really works good.

I attribute that to the less than super integrated graphics
but @265$ it was a heck of a laptop.
