Need a 06 Suby transmission mount. As I have posted many times always check the dealer! Dealer, O'Reilly, AA, AZ. The dealer drops it off the next AM at 9am.
Depends. Remember, commonly used doesnt mean commonly sold. Generally a dealer parts manager will put a part in stock if it sells x times in a year, generally 2 to 4 times depending on the dealer and the dollar value of inventory the parts manager is allowed to carry. Part is then removed from inventory if it doesnt sell in x monthsDo dealers around you always have things in stock or do they need to order them from either other dealers (trade ?) or a nearby warehouse ? I've ordered simple things for our Civic - transmission drain plug, EVAP purge valve, etc - and no nearby dealer stocked them. Wasn't an emergency so waiting didn't bother me, but I thought it was common enough that it would be stocked. The purge valve is used on 2012-2015 Civics and 2016-2021 HR-Vs.
This is one of the oldest dealers in the north east and has a large parts dept, the main Subaru of America warehouse is a few hours away. The longest I have had to wait was 2 days for a BRZ hood and a front fender. No shipping they drops it off.Do dealers around you always have things in stock or do they need to order them from either other dealers (trade ?) or a nearby warehouse ? This is exactly how we are setup. I do all of the ordering and if I don't have 3 movements in 9 months, it doesn't get ordered unless it is one of the parts I override. There are some, especially the F81Z-9A153-AA 7.3L fuel drains that if the temp changes too fast they will all leak and I sell 5 in a week after they sat for 10 months. With a lot of parts, if I order before 3:30PM it is at my work before I get there in the morning.Depends. Remember, commonly used doesnt mean commonly sold. Public pricing, I get a bit off that but not a lot on low priced parts like that. A new short block for example and body parts have a very good savings. Is that with a mechanic account or public pricing?
That's the thing. Obviously different for a shop trying to sell jobs to a customer at a fair price, but on my own vehicles I've learned to go with OEM parts whenever it is possible/reasonable to do so. I learned my lesson replacing the same alternator 3 times in one month from Autozone. "Lifetime warranty" starts meaning a lot less when you are laying on your back in the gravel replacing the same POS part for the 3rd time.or called 'NOS'. I gota guy w/these listings usa wide. Kinda neat.
* My problem is the different quality of parts sold (often by same location) and availability (esp on older vehicles).
* I enjoy the quality usually found by using the manufacturer 'dealers'.
* The big box stores have some very low quality in their lower priced items. It's real junk ! Not worth the labor.
Not sure this all fits the thread title but is what I find~
Yeah, I see that now that you mention it. I was just thinking that the more of those parts that are out there, the higher the odds are that it could need replaced. In the case of Honda, one of their regional warehouses is 30 minutes up the interstate highway from here and the parts guys have told me more than once that if they order by "X" pm, the parts are delivered to them before they open. Another one said they can see parts inventory at nearby dealers and can trade/buy parts from each other.Remember, commonly used doesnt mean commonly sold.
However at O’Reilly motor mounts are far cheaper with a commercial account when compare to retail.Public pricing, I get a bit off that but not a lot on low priced parts like that. A new short block for example and body parts have a very good savings.
So like in online Ford world, people think the FL-1A oil filter is the most common thing out there. I have 7 in stock currently. I have 78 FL-820S, 54 FL-500S (with 72 coming in today), and 81 FL-910S on the shelf. Tells you what is actually common and sold more often versus what people think is common. O and my system says I have an excess stock of 6 FL-1A based on history of sales.Yeah, I see that now that you mention it.
