part dino part synthetic oil

OK, there's discussion between conventional and synthetic oil, but what about synthetic blend?

This makes me wonder - with my old car - Chevy Beretta GT with a V6 engine, i used Castrol Synthetic blend. The question i have is this:

is it a 50/50 mix or is it maybe 30% dino, 70% synthetic oil?

Anyone?

I have read various figures. But I think the percentage synthetic is hardly 10% in most blends. 30% synthetic would be great.

Mobil 1 told me 14% when i called. everyone else said 'classified'

If anything, it is maybe 20% syn, 80% conventional. Look at Valvo Maxlife. Although not advertised as a syn blend, it does have a percentage of synthetic (PAO) in it, and seal conditioners. A good oil, a good price at Walmart, and free after rebate if you hit this site...

I called Quaker State/Pennzoil about 1 1/2 ago, they told me 22%

So is that mean if your car take 5 quarts of oil for a oil change, you can put in 4 quarts of conventional oil and 1 quart of full synthetic oil and you got a 20% blended oil assuming you are using the same brand of oil.

The mobil7500 syn blend has 27% more cleaning agents than the conventional oil.

I'm not sure that that's the way the oil manufacturers make their synthetic blends, but I'd say the end result should be about the same. Cheaper too.

According to my research it's closer to 45/45% for Pennzoil. For Quaker State it's 4x4 blend it meets GM's 4718 standard which would indicate that it is a tough oil. So its % of synthetic oil would have to be high.

Synthetic blends are at the most 15%, which means you are better off adding a quart of full synthetic to your conventional oil

Synthetic blends are what i compare to juice drinks that say in tiny letters something like "contains 7% real ____ juice"
