Painted my dead grass today

This is my 4th year in a row doing this. It cost me about $85. That’s for the 3 quarts of paint and the pump sprayer. It took almost four hours and my back feels all jacked up.

In the PNW, we usually go with no rain from late June to mid September. If you don’t have an irrigation system for your lawn, it will die.

The paint will fade over time and when the rain comes in September, the grass will start turning green and start growing. I still mow it since some parts still grow in summer.

Nah, man. It's just going dormant. Look at your neighbor's yards. Any grass that comes back is doing so in spite of your painting it. + behind your back; The neighbors call you "That Paint Guy". .02

Two years ago I was in Seattle (mid July) and was surprised how dry it was heading East towards Columbia River.

West of Seattle was very nice and lush green….. very dry and dead grass on the East side of state.
