I’ve seen that, once, happen seemingly in one day, where the truck was driven to work on a friends house, the day was dusty, and at the end of the day the hood looked like 10x worse than that, like alligator skin with scratches in it. Not sure what exactly did it, and how it happened right then and there. BUT, only happened on the hood, no other panels.

Yep, it's an aluminum hood.
Ok, I'm seeing now that it's possibly just wear and tear. Suggestions? Wash it? And wax it? Sealant? Just stare at it? I'm very open to suggestions.
Could it be age combined with acid rain exposure?
Needs refinish.
Don’t polish it. Removing clear coat will only speed up deterioration.
Just wash it and apply this sealant?
