Well, today wasn't a good day. It seems all roads lead to replacing the oil pump when this code sets; unless there was maintenance neglect (dirty oil, low oil, etc.). I've maintained my Silverado impeccably. A few months out of the powertrain warranty, unfortunately. 25K miles...what a shame...

The important thing is what's your oil pressure at hot and cold idle. If you're getting no or erratic/nonsensical readings then the wiring or sensor could have an issue. Might not be the pump itself. Using a mechanical gauge in this instance is important.

True statement & I'm still interweb researching theory & operation for this variable pump setup; as well as fixes tried and failed vs. successful. I'm finding a lot of evidence that points to a failed control solenoid/pump mechanical issues vs gage/sensor issue.

This is exactly what my truck is doing....

One of the fleet trucks I work on (2015 Silverado 4.3L/6L80E) set a P06DD right at 100,000 miles, Used HP-Tuners to turn the DTC off, That was over 200,000 miles ago & it's still trucking along being abused by morons everyday.

Unfortunately.....2019 & up ECM's have to be unlocked (New ECM, Programed, Unlocked, HP-Tuners Interface & Credits will run @ $1,400)

A new oil pump will run $1,500-$2,000.

Teardown is in process. Front axle & steering rack are out. Parts ordered & received. I'm spending more on new tools than parts, lol...
