P0128 - Honda Civic

Got P0128, so looking to replace thermostat, seeing both Amazon and ebay full of "oem honda" ones in less than $20 range, anyone has any experience?

Otherwise will assume they are fake, as OEM Honda can be in $30-$40 range.

Is Gates good or any other aftermarket option from RA: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/honda,2012,civic,1.8l+l4,1501248,cooling+system,thermostat,2200?

I have used gates thermostats in gm full size pickups many times without issue. They are a OE supplier to some I believe.

Aisin, Mahle, Calorstat, or Facet

Don't buy the Gates thermostat, as Gates is reboxed Motorad

The aisin should be the oem. I just bought an oem thermostat from honda for my 04 civic and it was around $40. When I opened it I realized it looked like it was just the repackaged aisin from ra.

Yes, I'd probably put them in that order. Aisin definitely is the first choice of the four.

Of the RA choices, agree with Aisin top pick. Make sure to install with jiggle pin to top, 12 o'clock position.
