Ozzy Osbourne has Died

Lemmy Kilmeister & Ozzy both came from the slums of Birmingham England. Blue Collar and poor. Lemmy died during a Motorhead tour, and now Ozzy ( just 2 weeks later ) They were the best of friends. Helped each other write lyrics. It was in their blood. They loved touring and their fans. Ozzy knew, that's why he did that last concert. All the proceeds went to charities. Black Sabbath was the 1st album I've ever owned. I didn't abandon them when Ronnie Dio started singing lead. He did a hell of a job too. " Hand of Doom" is still my favorite. he will be missed, along with Lemmy, Eddie Van Halen, Jim Morrison, etc. Life as a rock star is not easy, and Ozzy was not easy on his body. He lived life to the FULLEST !!!! Blew out many a speakers to Sabbath & Ozzy albums....If my old cassettes could only talk.... R.I.P. Ozzman

i was referring to the "Prince of darkness" shtick.

and ... he didn't urinate on Alamo... it was on the grounds, but not on the Alamo itself, but on the Cenotaph, which basically amounts to central headstone for the Fallen buried within the grounds.

"He was simply going about his business, partying like a rock star, and after a few drinks too many he stumbled out in the street dressed in a dress owned by his future wife Sharon Osbourne (she had hidden his clothes to keep him from going out) and emptied his full bladder on the nearest statue he could find.

He had no idea he was standing at the city’s sacred 60-foot-high Cenotaph, located directly across from the Alamo building. Hell, he was barely in any condition to remember what city he was in, let alone where he was relieving himself. Contrary to popular belief, Ozzy didn’t technically pee on the Alamo building itself, he peed within the Alamo Plaza, and he chose a pretty bad place."

Some people just love to play the victim. Facts be ****ed.

What was it like hearing Sabbath’s music for the first time? Same question to anyone else that first heard their music in that decade

I was born in ‘94 and grew up to my Gen X parents listening to sabbath and ozzy. Even today, it blows my mind that Black Sabbath was putting out that sort of sound in *1970*

Awesome.

As soon as those Black Sabbath albums were available on CD in the 80's, I bought them. I still have them. Along with Ozzy's album collection through the 80's.

My longtime local rock station,

In the 80's? no they weren't. I'm sure his final concert tickets were pricey, but I had other things going on over the 4th of July weekend. Now I wish I'd gone anyway.
Who'd have thought Ozzy would have barely squeaked by in time for his concert. Maybe he knew more than we did. It's a bummer for Kelley that Ozzie won't be there for her upcoming wedding. It's interesting that the live stream of the concert was a pay to see as well.

Not much into metal or tween-age rock "theatre" bands like KISS or Alice Cooper. More of a Bach, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven dude with some MoodyBlues, R.E.M, Eurythmics, and (early) Aerosmith thrown in.

I appreciated his iconic war protest song, but that delay echo at the beginning of Crazy Train would have me reaching for the channel selector knob.

Nice he did his final "Back to the Beginning" show in Birmingham for charity - almost raised a 1/4B !

I plan to do a revisit of his music via youtube music videos when time allows and mine for some hidden gems.

Yes because all the money went to charity so the more the better. I am 56 and have loved Ozzy since i was 12 years old. Love him or hate him he was a classic. RIP. Ozzy !
Sharon commented that she uninvited one band due to them attempting to sell their merchandise at the show. Nobody is saying who.

Never a fan but he definitely had a great career and knew how to entertain. I just hope every station doesn't start playing Crazy Train. I can't stand that one.
You know, me too. I was NOT an Ozzy fan from my 20's and on (I know I know). But it's just the truth.

I still to this day think Paranoid is Black Sabbath's best LP, best musically and listen-ability - but I know that is debatable.

I'm sure he knew his time was short. Parkinson's is degenerative, and he had been degenerating quickly.

Without getting religious, I've experienced enough to know our soul continues on.

The concert was all about one last thank you to the fans, and raising money for charity.

OK I got Paranoid out. LP is pretty worn. No. I will stream in on the WiiM.

Listening at 45

Absolutely crystal clear. Volume 45 on the Marantz. Slight enhance on the bass and treble. Sub up a little.

Holy God. Mother of God. House is shaking. War Pigs. I may have to stop it sounds so good. Oops now Paranoid. Wow.

Yeah I can be nuts. Yes this was from 1970.
