Ozzy Osbourne has Died

Y'all guys have autocorrect or something? The music industry is the one the loss will mark the most?

Do realize he purposely urinated on a Texas shrine, where 180 Texans or so endured a 13 day siege by over 2000 Mexican soldiers, before finally losing their lives?

Again, do you think this "persona" would be laughed at if he purposely urinated on, say, Ground Zero, for example? That's about what the Alamo means to us.
With you on that one. I can guarantee you two things - 1) it wasn't a persona, it was all him, just high as a kite or drunk as a camel or both & 2) he changed his ways.

I saw Black Sabbath play at a free concert in a park near Memphis in 1971. Never was a big metal fan but their first couple of albums are classics.

I'll always connect his early music with a memory of riding in a friend's orange brush-painted 1960 Studebaker Lark in 1970.

I never watched, as I can't stand reality tv shows, but my dad did see a few episodes of the Osbournes, and I remember him commenting one time that Ozzy seemed to be the sanest of all of them.... I'm not sure if that's positive or not.

I still am stuck on how Keef is still alive

Ozzy was 76. Not ancient but he was relatively young when I bought Paranoid in the 70s and I was a teen. I’ll be 67 next week
What was it like hearing Sabbath’s music for the first time? Same question to anyone else that first heard their music in that decade

I was born in ‘94 and grew up to my Gen X parents listening to sabbath and ozzy. Even today, it blows my mind that Black Sabbath was putting out that sort of sound in *1970*

I'll have to add this to the list of people I wished I had seen in concert before it was too late. Not because of the music, but because of the theatrics and just to be able to say yea I saw him once. I was never really a fan of anything he did, biting the head off the bat, his antics at the Alamo, Black Sabbath or otherwise. I guess graduating high school in '85, an era where every third song on the radio was his voice, just kind of had me Ozzed-out even back then, worse now. I did watch a few episodes of The Osbournes when it was on, and found in mildly amusing. He certainly made his life as crazy and interesting as he wanted it to be.

This one hurts. I was raised on Black Sabbath / Ozzy. Black Sabbath was one of the bands that inspired me to get into drumming. Mama, he's coming home. RIP

I saw a biography on him. I didn't realize that sharon was his second wife. I had no Idea he had what two? Or three kids in his first marriage.

i was referring to the "Prince of darkness" shtick.

and ... he didn't urinate on Alamo... it was on the grounds, but not on the Alamo itself, but on the Cenotaph, which basically amounts to central headstone for the Fallen buried within the grounds.

"He was simply going about his business, partying like a rock star, and after a few drinks too many he stumbled out in the street dressed in a dress owned by his future wife Sharon Osbourne (she had hidden his clothes to keep him from going out) and emptied his full bladder on the nearest statue he could find.

He had no idea he was standing at the city’s sacred 60-foot-high Cenotaph, located directly across from the Alamo building. Hell, he was barely in any condition to remember what city he was in, let alone where he was relieving himself. Contrary to popular belief, Ozzy didn’t technically pee on the Alamo building itself, he peed within the Alamo Plaza, and he chose a pretty bad place."

Ironman of course. On the radio. I had no idea who Ozzy was at that point. All I knew is "FM is cool, they play 3 songs in a row"

I was 12, and exited the decade at 21. Great time for music.

I'd like to watch a well produced, hour to 90 minute TV show featuring a chronologically progressive sampling of Mr. Osbourne playing the signature hits with whichever band at the time.

Having never gotten into music, I shortchange metal as many might Rap.

All I've ever seen of Ozzie is a mumbling freak in the back of a taxi in a telecom commercial.
Let's just say I wouldn't've confused the guy with Shakespeare.

He went back for a public apology - more than some would do …
