Hi all.
Ready to change the oil on this car, and I am looking for something bigger. What are the advantages to an oversized filter? Is it worth it?
Anyway, I went to Napa to go and get it. They gave me a 1411 Gold Filter, which seems to be about double the size of the original filter. The specs from Wixfilters.com are:
Part Number: 51411
UPC Number: 765809514119
Principal Application: Allis-Chalmers Construction and Farm Tractors, Worthington Compressors
Style: Spin-On Lube
Service: Lube
Type: Full Flow
Media: Paper
Height: 5.988
Outer Diameter Top: 4.282
Outer Diameter Bottom: Closed
Thread Size: 3/4-16
By-Pass Valve Setting-PSI: 8-11
Gasket Diameters
Number O.D. I.D. Thk.
Attached 2.834 2.462 0.200
My original filter was this:
Part Number: 51361
UPC Number: 765809513617
Principal Application: Infiniti (91-97), Nissan (88-99), Mercury Villager (93-98), Subaru (88-94)
Style: Spin-On Lube
Service: Lube
Type: Full Flow
Media: Paper
Height: 4.067
Outer Diameter Top: 2.960
Outer Diameter Bottom: Closed
Thread Size: 3/4-16
By-Pass Valve Setting-PSI: None
Anti-Drain Back Valve: Yes
Gasket Diameters
Number O.D. I.D. Thk.
Attached 2.475 2.173 0.233
My main concerns are that the new filter has a bypass valve, but does not have an anti drain back valve. Can someone please help me find the right Napa filter??? Also, the oversized filter was about $9. Anything else better for the money? All opinions are gratefully appreciated.
David
