can you get a oversize oil filter for a 2008 impala for the 3.5l if so anyone know the number?

What is the standard filter?
If it's the PF47 I believe the oversize is a PF52 or equivalent. Make sure to check clearance if it is a vertical mount, I won't put an oversize on the G6 as it hangs a little too low for my personal comfort.

ac delco standard size is pf61 there is clearance for a longer one of there is one that will fit.
Hmmm, the PF61 is already a longer filter. Not sure there would be a longer filter that wouldn't be any wider.
If you can go to a little wider filter, the Baldwin B9 might fit
3 11/16" X 5 3/8" or you can Cross-Reference the B9 to your filter of choice.

Make sure you get the AC-Delco PF-52, not the junky e-core PF-52E.
Purolator cross reference is L24011 but not quite as long, or well built as the PF-52 in my opinion.
Also Bosch #3430: Premium version of the Puro L24011, still, the non ecore PF-52 is a better filter for the money I think.

Purolator cross reference is L24011 but not quite as long, or well built as the PF-52 in my opinion.
Also Bosch #3430: Premium version of the Puro L24011, still, the non ecore PF-52 is a better filter for the money I think.

The L20123 does not have an ADBV. So be aware that it should be used in places where the filter sits vertically - thread-side up.
Originally for 4 years (2004-2008), the AC Delco PF-61 did not have an ADBV. But from what I hear, it does today.
I switched to Purolator since 2008, but for other reasons. I just feel they are the best bang for the dollar spent.
Someone else here mentioned the Puro L3005 - as a big alternative to either the Puro L20123 or L25288.
The threads are the same, but the O.D. is different.
