It hit me just a few minutes ago. I was thinking about the treatment rates, then I realized that I've been overdosing my 88 Corolla without knowing it. I usually put 5 or 6 gallons of gas in the car at a time (takes so long to put gas in the tank for some reason) and I usually put 5 ounces of MMO in the tank every other time I get gas. I suppose by only using it every other time I get gas it kinda balances out, but am I hurting anything by running almost twice the recommended rate of MMO in my car?

You could skip it for a few fuel-ups.
If you stop overdosing now, you may have done nothing bad.
I had a code pop up when I over did it. IIRC, it was the code for the catalytic converter. It could have been a bad O2 sensor though. I cleared the code and trade the car in, (which is was doing anyway).

I don't think your even coming close to overdosing especially because you are already only using it every other tank.

MMo in the fuel cleans and lubricates. Fuel system , possibly valves and combustion chamber, and is a step in the right direction for lubricating the fuel pump and as a top end cylinder lube.
It has been postulated that diesels get long life from the engines because of the lubricity of the diesel fuel.
I think MMo , Lucas UCL, or FP 60 are worthwhile products.
My informal gas mileage checks show improvement with Lucas UCL.

I run about 3% biodiesel in my gas for lubrication. I also use 5% biodiesel instead of 2 stroke oil in my chainsaw and weed trimmer.
Modern engines with computer controlled fuel injection last longer also because there is never excess fuel to wash down the cylinders.

I've heard of the 2-stroke oil:biodiesel substitution.
IMO, I never thought that biodiesel lubricity would be an effective substitute for TCW3.
I'd use biodiesel as a supplement and not a substitute, or at least as a ratio supplement(like 50:50 mixed in 2-stroke).

How's those chainsaw/trimmer holding out without oil? Anyone want to gamble tcw3 substitution(biodiesel) on a larger motor, like an outboard or dirtbike?

From what I've seen, some of the 2-stroke oil actually drops out of the fuel to coat all the moving parts. I don't expect biodiesel to do that as it should stay atomized. Your 'coating film' lubrication on those moving parts might be a little lean.

It would be interesting to see someone sponsor biodiesel for NMMA TCW3, API TC, JASO FC, or ISO (LE)GD, certification as a 2-stroke lube.
I'd also love to see how some of the UCL/FI products(Lucas, MMO, FP60, Lubrigas, Moreys, TruBlu, Neutra, Redline) would do in the same testing.

I highly doubt that you're doing anything harmful. I ran enough to put a fog behind my Caravan and got nothing but instant stsrts out of the deal. When I sad dosed ..I dosed it. 2 quarts in 20 gallons.
