I have yet to see a non-marina gas station that sells (or markets) 100% gas in ohio.

I'd pay a small premium for 100% gas...

but not the giant jackup at the marina.. well maybe for my OPE.

We have Two stations here that brag about selling Ethanol free gasoline. Both are located quite away from where we live and have a nearby station that sells a lot of gas - always busy. They have the lowest price too.

No issues with it.

The Ethanol free stations are higher and any savings in mileage would be lost because of higher pump prices.

According to pure-gas.org, the closest one to me (in CA) is just over 500 miles. Actually I guess I could drive to AZ and get some at just over 6 hours away.

I'm one that had problems with their fuel and will no longer use it but they don't offer any ethanol free here at all. Even if they did I'll go out of my way to an Exxon.

Alcohol also oxygenates gas. It replaced MTBE in many states but is now banned in this country. So with no alcohol, the gas needs something else to oxygenate it. Below is a list of possible gas additives, there are a lot more than I thought.

The gas will get it's required O2 from the air that is ingested during the intake stroke.
It does not "NEED" O2 from the alcohol.
And the O2 sensor will further keep things in order.

I have been running ethanol free gas in my Colorado for about 2 months. I did not mind paying 5-10 cents per gallon more, but now the station that sells it has it at $.50 per gallon more!!!! Sorry, but my experiment may be over.

ouch, do you feel any different running pure gas vs ethanol gas ?

Yes I do. Better mileage, smoother idling, and better low end torque/throttle response. Never dino'ed it, but that's what day to day driving with the butt dino indicates. But at $.50/gal.....

Try almost a buck more per gallon for what the station nearest me calls 100 percent gas. Mid-grade with ethanol is $3.30 a gallon, while the ethanol free version sells for $4.25. Was going to get some pure gas for my lawnmower until I saw the price. Just dosed the $3.30 with Stabil Marine and started mowing.

Well, for the 1 gallon can I use for the lawn mower for the year, it IS worth it to me. The lawn mower is still running e0. But 20 gallons/week for the truck. Nope.

Our gas station ethanol cost 20 cent more then regular. wich cost me 6 dollar per fill up, that is 2 week use, not bad if you ask me. I haven use it yet, because my gas tank still have alot gas, I wait until near empty and fill up with 100% gas.
