Can be used for final surface prep before applying a new gasket (From my '68 Mopar shop manual). No idea about anything made in the last 5-10 years, but old school starting fluid dried with zero residue.
I have a can still, while gasket replacements are infrequent for me these days, but a tiny squirt makes starting my old school edger a one hand breeze
How does it compare to the now banished "safety solvent" type sprays (hfc, I believe). That stuff was great for getting grease & oil stains out of clothes.
I just removed my lawn and got rid of my lawn mower and no longer need the can of starting fluid that I have, not sure if should hang onto it... are there any other uses for it?
There are certain things that I never discard. Strong chemicals are among them. As many are soon to be banned, never to be found again. I suggest you keep it for a rainy day. You never know when you or a neighbor will need it.
