I saw the memo today while shopping at O'Reiley's were Fully Synthetic Oils are made with synthetic base stocks from Mobil-Exxon. It's a Group III.
It did not mention additives and it appeared the oil they buy is in bulk and they then have it formulated to ILSAC GF-5 Specs. at another facility and then bottled.
It does fly off the shelves when they offer a special deal where you get a 14 micron Micro Guard Filter "Made in the USA" for $19.95 plus tax.
I did cut one open and it looked pretty good and my wear numbers using 5W-30 in a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox are about the same as PP or Edge.
A 5-quart container with the filter today was $ 19.95 plus tax.
Seems like a value for those of us who do not extend and change out every 5,000 miles.
My wear numbers with this oil are better than the numbers with Wally's Fully Synthetic.
