I've been looking for one particular motherboard for my 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen build. An MSI B450M Mortar Titanium. I absolutley love the looks of this motherboard and the VRMs are great. It is an excellent board.

I ordered it from Amazon.com on December 11th with a projected delivery date of December 27th. They had a projected "In Stock on XXX" date at the time I ordered it. Soon after, it went out of stock again without a projected inventory date. I assumed it mine was accounted for. Well, yesterday came and the shipping date had been moved to January 4th.

Looking at other retailers, BH Photo Video (discontinued), Frys (no listing), Newegg (out of stock) I quickly realized that supplies of this are going to be very rocky. A friend at a large multi-national distribuitor says that he can't find any in-stock info on this board... even MSI reps. have no clue. It has been a month long goose chase. I've even started finding Gaming PCs for sale on Facebook Marketplace where people have used this motherboard and are selling a PC -- I've even made offers for the boards or to mail them a similar board for exchange. LOL!

I went looking on Amazon Japan and found the same motherboard with 9 in stock. I went ahead, created an Amazon Japan account and ordered it for delivery to lowly Buffalo, NY. Says it should be here in 3-6 business days and only cost about $20 USD more than I was paying here. It was around 14,400 Yen total. It is being shipped and sold by Amazon.co.jp so I feel pretty confident.

I used a credit card of mine wiht no foreign transaction fee and here we go.

I'll be ecstatic if it ships.

Feels so strange yet cool to do.

That's a cool looking board alright. MSI makes the best AMD motherboards, IMHO. I've got an MSI Gaming Pro Carbon (970A) in my system, and love it. Previous system was an MSI as well.

Good deal. I have ordered from Amazon UK before with no problems. Got my orders in 10 to 14 days. Going to search the Japanese site. Haven't looked around there before.

That board color reminds me of a Soyo Dragon KT400 Platinum motherboard I had back in the Athlon XP / socket 462(A) days.

Interesting how you bought it overseas like that, I can't imagine the Japan version would be any different from the US. Would not have thought to do that.

That was a good looking Athlon XP board. Soyo used to be a very nice board maker.

Gets me thinking about all of the interesting boards I've had over the years. Had a Socket 939 board that could support 939 Athlon 64 X2s, DDR a ULi chipset and AGP 8x. Had an Athlon X2, 4GB of RAM and a GeForce 7800GS (probably one of the last Nvidia AGP cards).

Will do. And yes MSI makes very good AMD motherboards. Their first gen Ryzen series had a few lackluster models, but, that is expected from any manufacturer. 2nd gen Ryzen -- they've knocked it out of the park with this and it's counterpart the B450M Mortar (same board just black PCB).

I order Japanese tools occasionally from amazon.co.jp and I'm always amazed with the speed of delivery... get it faster than some US vendors, less than a week.

Oh that's cool to know. Sounds promising! Amazon.co.jp must have a fast track or quick Lane into the US.

When I found a flag I clicked it and then when I selected United States it took me back to amazon.con

Sounds like it took you back to the regular Amazon.com (US). Amazon.co.jp is the Japanese-region Amazon. If you look for the globe up near the top of the page, It'll probably show a globe outline with "JP" above it -- if you click that you can change to English language and browse the site. I believe if you changed to English/US at the bottom, it changed your Amazon region.

Amazon Japan shipped my motherboard yesterday, expected to be here next Tuesday or Wednesday... fingers crossed.

You should be able to log in with your regular Amazon credentials. At least, this still works for me on all AMZN sites. I have a list of tools I order from Japan and Germany when I go for Prime trial every year. Shipping is very reasonable and sometimes quicker than from the US.
