I appreciate the helpful responses. As far as the rest go, they're the main reason why I no longer frequent this site nearly as much as I did say, 3 years ago. Instead of mentioning things that someone would need to bear in mind when trying to do this, there are some folks who decide to open up with both barrels and give out the millions of reasons why a business like the one I am considering won't work. I know what I have to overcome.
Thankfully, I'm operating in a state where they haven't (yet) passed a law for everything under the sun. I realize most of the folks who post on here are from up north, and I guess that environment would cause you to think that everything has to be done strictly in accordance with some set of governmental rules. In North Carolina, the only thing you have to do to open a 'Service Station' is buy a privilege license from your municipality. I think I can manage to pay that $30 fee.
