Opinions please: Redline vs Amsoil

The Amsoil 20w-50/MCV Motorcycle oil is fully 20% thicker than their Series 2000 racing oil in terms of high temp, high shear viscosity (6.0 Centipoise, vs 5.1 Centipoise), which is the relevant parameter here - and it's more shear stable. I think that will quiet down the engine nicely and reduce oil consumption a bit. It will also provde better rust protection during off season storage.

The Amsoil straight 60wt is actually an SAE 25w-60 if you look at the CCS viscosity at low temps. I think it's probably too thick for a modern motorcycle and will kill your fuel efficiency.
