Well, so much for my bright idea. I tried the old Amsoil M/C oil and wasn't impressed but I've heard good things about the new stuff and thought I'd try it and thicken it up slightly with the RL (and add some moly). I see 3 used oil analysis in my future. I will be doing one when I change out my oil this fall (currently Amsoil 20W-50 TRO racing oil), then one on RL and another on the new M/C 20W-50 Amsoil stuff. Sometimes I try to be too slick (no pun intended) for my own good and over-analyze. Thanks for bringing me back from over the edge!
I checked the used oil analysis and found a couple RL/Amsoil mixes and the TBN's seemed to be surprisingly low. Neither had many miles (I think under 6K). However, I did find a M1+RL mix that looked good but a couple Amsoil+M1 mixes did not. I guess mixing synthetics is a cr*p-shoot. I'm glad I posted this because I was just about to place my orders for the RL and Amsoil and I can't afford to have either of the engines the oil is going into be guinea pigs. Thanks for the responses.
