Opinions on bubble balancers.

I'm a cheap DIY'er. Ill hand mount tires if it's not a nice set of wheels.

I'll either run them unbalanced (have had good luck with that in my Jeep). But if it needs balancing I'll go to Walmart for balancing. Seem to have the least issues there.

I pulled her wheel off and this is what I found . Basically the weights were counter acting each other. I took them all off and it balanced out with 1.5oz the other wheel had 6.75 I balanced it out with .75 and they ride smooth. So in this case good enough is good enough.

"But the machine told me to put them there!"
"But it balances the wheel on another axis!"

Time to fire that tire shop!

Thought I stepped back in time to the 70's after reading the title of this thread. I haven't seen any shop around here use one since that time. How would you even use one on wheels where the weights go on the inside? I bought a used hand cranked Snap On balancer over 15 years ago and couldn't imagine using a bubble machine. Enter the diameter, offset and wheel width, give it a spin and it tells you exactly where to put the weights.
