i'm with you on that,(T-moblie has no presence or signal in my area, at&t is spotty at best) but unfortunately, its not entirely that simple...
now of course, I don't know what phone you have, but i'm on my second Verizon 4GLTE handset (model not important). Even though Verizon is a CDMA carrier, and have never used SIM cards in the past, Their 4G Phones do.
The 4G standard is a GSM Derivative.
and the specific phone mentioned in this thread, has this listed under connectivity:
Connectivity
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/8
LTE: Bands: 1/3/4/7/17/38/40
so it would appear to be cdma capable to me anyway
Sounds like you know more than I do. I had a heckuva time finding any real information about the product on their site, but David Pogue's review noted it as T-Mobile/AT&T - centric.

To answer your query, I have an iPhone on Verizon. Verizon reception in our area is FAR SUPERIOR to anything else. My smartphone and first Apple product tho; I am
not overwhelmed.
